Short Bio
It was 2011 when Evans made his WRC bow, driving a Ford Fiesta R2 on the fast gravel stages of Rally Finland. He finished second in the British Rally Championship the same year, piloting a Subaru Impreza. He followed this up with a season in the Junior WRC in 2012, winning four out of six rallies and clinching the title.
Evans career reached dizzying heights in 2013, when he was subbed in for Nasser Al-Attiyah at M-Sport to make his WRC debut at Rally Italia Sardegna. Consistent performances in the WRC2, which included a victory at his home rally in Wales, ensured Evans would be in the M-Sport garages full-time for 2014.
It was Evans grandfather who taught him the ropes behind the wheel of a car however, as eight-year-old Elfyn was gripped by his father’s escapades. Ten years later, he was competing in events for the first time in a Nissan Micra.
A first stage win came at ADAC Rallye Deutschland in August 2014, before his maiden podium at Rally Argentina just over six months later. Evans’ steady development continued through 2015, as he secured a second podium at Rally de France – Corsica.
